As an Overseas Filipino Workers, they work abroad to sustain the needs of their family and fulfill their dreams of a better life. Because of the lack of employment here in our country, they have no choice but to do to it.
When they arrived in a foreign country, they automatically felt alone because they didn’t know one.
Their loved ones are not around anymore to lift them up in times of their trouble especially when homesickness strikes. They have to endure this kind of feeling.
Here in the Philippines, we are more on giving. So, when we think of OFWs there is a possibility of having a so called pasalubong or present such as chocolates, clothes, bags, shoes, and so on.
As an OFW, it really hurts the most when you see or hear your relatives not being contented on what you have given. They wish for more and more thinking that it was so easy living in abroad.
Raymond Lopez, an OFW in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia narrates his experience about hearing people saying he is kuripot and doesn’t even know how to share his blessings.
